CPCA and the Compassion Institute (CI) are offering a four-week Compassion Cultivation Training (CCT) workshop. Compassion has been shown to improve many dimensions of healthcare, including patient health outcomes, patient satisfaction, clinician well-being, team well-being, and quality and process of care. While compassion is an inherent quality we all have as human beings, it is an orientation and skill that can be cultivated and strengthened so that it becomes the default place from which we approach and respond to any situation. What do we mean by compassion? Compassion is the ability to attend to discomfort and suffering – of myself and others – from a place of more centeredness, clarity, and care, rather than from overwhelm or distress. It includes the capacity to manage stress, calm the nervous system, and process emotions such as anxiety, fear, anger, and grief, and is essential for sustainable resilience. While personal resilience is just one piece of a healthy workplace, it is essential. Cultivating the skills to show up as our best selves equips individuals to take care of themselves, particularly during the pandemic, and respond to challenging situations with more inner resources, clarity, and skillfulness.

“I’ve been participating in a lot of trauma, resilience, and compassion seminars lately, but this particular one really did help me grasp concepts about self-compassion that I’ve struggled with for years.” – Leevi Camus, Clinic Director APLA Health

“I’ve been doing this kind of training and practice for years, and this was the best. My favorite. No baloney.” - Mark Ishaug, CEO Thresholds

  • Non Members/Non Health Centers: $400

Training Fees Update
Last year, in recognition of the tremendous financial stress members were facing and to ensure that important and timely information could be accessed with no barriers, CPCA elected to waive training fees for the entire membership year (April 1,2020- March 31, 2021) and offer all training at no cost. As we continue to work in this pandemic environment to provide members the support they need, we must also plan for the future while supporting community health centers in improving the health status of their communities through advocacy, education, and services. Which is why the Board of Directors approved a budget in February that reflects a reinstatement of training fees effective for trainings taking place on or after April 1, 2021. If you have any questions or concerns about this change, please email us at training@cpca.org.
