Trong is an Assistant Director of Policy at CPCA focusing on regulatory issues including FQHC/330, managed care, dental care and others.
Prior to joining CPCA, Trong worked as a consultant at Manatt Health Strategies where he worked on several exciting projects including supporting the states of Washington and North Carolina implement their 1115 waivers, developing business and technical requirements for the statewide provider directory under SB 137, and advising health systems in their IT integration efforts.
Trong's knowledge of Medi-Cal managed care came from his experience working at Partnership Health Plan of California where he managed and supported the implementation of different state and federal policy initiatives, as well as monitoring federal and state legislation and regulation, specifically Medicaid policies.
Trong is no stranger to the FQHC world. His first job as an AmeriCorps VISTA was to help low income patients sign up for and receive care at FQHCs in Quincy, Massachusetts. He also spent time working at NACHC in their Federal and State Affairs Department.
