Bio

Dr. Joshua Morgan is a licensed psychologist and Director of Behavioral Health at Unicare Community Health Center, a 22 clinic FQHC across LA, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of TURN Behavioral Health, a large non-profit community behavioral health provider in California, operating in several counties with more than 85 community-based programs.

Previously, he was SAS’ National Director of Behavioral Health and Whole Person Care, providing internal and external strategy and direction around the use of analytics, data, and evaluation in health and human services agencies across the United States. Additional experience includes the San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health’s Chief of Behavioral Health Informatics, providing coordination, planning, and oversight of health informatics activities, including specialized and complex analytic, research, and evaluation activities focused on value-based healthcare and performance outcomes, particularly related to the Mental Health Services Act and Whole Person Care.

 

Dr. Morgan has worked clinically with adolescent self-injury, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs, psychiatric inpatient units and university counseling centers. He is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and has published and presented on interfaith peacemaking and non-suicidal self-injury. Dr. Morgan also led a liaison team in their support of the survivors and families of the December 2 San Bernardino Terrorist Attack.

Dr. Morgan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Family Psychology from Azusa Pacific University. He has been a member of several county and state-wide committees, including serving as co-chair for the DBH's System-wide Performance Outcomes Committee and for DBH’s Spirituality Sub-Committee. Dr. Morgan also teaches undergraduate and graduate courses for a variety of universities on subjects such as Research and Evaluation, Diagnosis and Treatment, Biological Foundations of Psychology, and Epistemology and Worldview.
