In my current role as the Safety Manager for Elica Health Centers I am responsible for creation and development of the safety program for free-standing clinics, mobile clinics and administrative offices. Elica Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center. Prior to my current position I was employed by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) for 19 years as a Senior Emergency Services Coordinator. In that role, I developed training and response materials, conducted exercises, administered the Statewide Medical and Health Exercise Program and represented CDPH at the Cal OES State Operations Center for declared emergencies as a Liaison Officer. I also participated in response activations at CDPH's Medical and Health Coordination Center. Prior to my career at CDPH, I worked as a primary care physician in my own primary care and urgent care offices. Before attending medical school, I worked in the private consulting industry as a safety manager, industrial hygienist and project manager.
In 2024, I attained Certified Emergency Manager accreditation with the International Association of Emergency Managers.
Other interests include restoration of antique and vintage automobiles including a 1929 Packard and a 1964 International Scout. I also volunteer with the American Red Cross as a Duty Officer and Governmental Operations Liaison Officer.
